Hi, I'm Dayana — the floral designer and owner of Day Dream Affairs. I've been dreaming of writing this note for a while, and today, on a day my heart is especially full, feels like exactly the right moment to introduce myself properly. So, hello. I'm so glad you're here.
Flowers are in my blood
I'm from Ecuador — a country so rich in blooms that over 90% of the flowers grown there are exported around the world — and I'm a proud third-generation florist. Flowers weren't just something I fell in love with; they're my inheritance, woven through my family for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by blooms, and to this day I keep deep relationships with the farms back home, so the roses and peonies I design with are some of the most beautiful in the world.
A designer's eye, a florist's hands
Before I ever built a bouquet for a bride, I was a graphic designer — and I never left that part of me behind. It means you don't just get flowers; you get a detailed mockup of your design, down to the exact quantity of blooms and the colors you choose. You'll see your day before it ever comes to life. Nothing is left to chance, and nothing is a surprise except how breathtaking it feels in person.
From corporate America to a life in bloom
Before Day Dream Affairs, I spent years building an extensive career in technology in corporate America — and I'm so grateful for it. It taught me how to lead projects, manage the smallest details, care for clients, and bring calm and order to the work of creating something out of nothing. Those are skills I lean on every single day in my studio now. But somewhere along the way, I realized my spark had quietly gone out; I simply couldn't find my passion in that world anymore. What lit me back up was flowers. Following that passion has been the best decision I've ever made, and it's why I pour my whole heart into every wedding I design.
Why I do this
To me, a wedding is never just an event and flowers are never just decoration. Every arrangement holds a feeling — the nervous joy of a first look, the warmth of family gathered close, the promise in two people saying yes. That's why I say I don't just arrange flowers, I tell your love story. Our consultation is the beginning of your dream wedding's vision, and I'll meet with you as many times as it takes for that vision to evolve and be made perfect.
Sourced with love, direct from the farm
Because of my roots, I source direct from the farms and pass the savings straight to you — yes, we can fly in Dutch peonies or Ecuadorian roses overnight. It's the best of both worlds: extraordinary blooms, thoughtfully priced, designed just for you.
